About

Kathryn, owner of Poppykate Press, is an artist and designer specialising in custom stationery and themed accessories for weddings and special occasions. She offers letterpress, linocut and hot foil printing as well as custom calligraphy and signage services. 

Kathryn’s passion for creating beautiful paper products was sparked when she made her own wedding stationery back in 2001. She was quickly asked by other brides-to-be to design their dream invitations. Since then she has created wedding stationery suites for numerous couples as well as invitations, announcements and other stationery for many other special occasions. She loves working with couples to bring their ideas to life in designs that reflect their personal style and love story. 

Whilst Kathryn loved her career as an Occupational Psychologist in London, helping others to achieve their career aspirations, she realised that, ironically her own creative potential was not being fulfilled.  Starting a family and moving back home to Malvern in 2003, enabled her to pursue her passion for creating bespoke wedding stationery and other crafts.

Kathryn is constantly adding to her arsenal of knowledge and skills combining vintage printing processes with modern techniques.  Eco-friendly materials and processes are at the heart of everything that she creates.  All her letterpress stationery is printed on “Harold”, her 1878, half ton treadle platen press or on other manually powered pressed. She uses recycled, tree-free and FSC Approved paper stock and non-toxic ink from British, family run operations.  She loves to incorporate a range of embellishments including her hand-marbled papers, wax seals, ribbons and Swarovski crystals.  All this enables her to design memorable creations for her clients which captivate the recipient and become treasured keepsakes.
